Laser cutting for multi-layer carbon fibre fabric

Tenowo GmbH is a part of Hoftex Group AG, a family-owned textile company in Germany and Europe. Tenowo has been manufacturing new nonwoven material on the basis of recycled carbon fibres since 2010. Particularly in lightweight construction and the automobile industry, there has been an increase in demand for carbon fibres as a fibre reinforcement for components. eurolaser has taken a closer look at several carbon nonwoven materials made by Tenowo, as examples, and tested them for their suitability for laser cutting in their own applications laboratory.

Carbon nonwoven material in laser test

 

The processing tests at eurolaser indicate that carbon nonwoven material from Tenowo can be cut and engraved perfectly with our CO2 laser systems. Outstanding results can be achieved with our laser systems even with large material thicknesses of 9.1 mm. The tests were performed on our 400-watt XL-1600 laser system.
